Four-Year Program Overview
Year 1 at Whitworth:
- Participate in BUCS Bridge pre-orientation program
- All participants live on campus in a living and learning community
- First-year Leadership Seminar, including a project and presentation on leadership and service
- Take a U.S. cultural studies course – fall or spring
Year 2:
- Immersion trip – Fall Break
- Monthly cohort meetings
- Take U.S. cultural studies courses – fall/spring
- Second-year Leadership Seminar with focus on vocation and purpose
- One-on-one check-ins with staff mentors from the Office of Student Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Year 3:
- Research fellowship in chosen field with faculty/staff mentors – fall
- Monthly cohort meetings
- Take a U.S. cultural studies course
- Participate in Jan Term off-campus study program
- Third-year Leadership Seminar with focus on making meaning of your Jan Term experience and post-graduate preparation
- One-on-one check-ins with staff mentors from the Office of Student Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Year 4:
- Fourth-year Capstone Leadership Seminar
- Facilitate "Sense of Belonging" workshops/retreats for peers
- Apply to graduate schools (if desired)
- Externship
- U.S. cultural studies course (Intergroup Dialogue Certification) – spring
