Community Lunches
These monthly luncheons highlight the cuisine and culture of a particular country or region.
Whitworth Top Chef
Whitworth Top Chef is an annual event to showcase food from various cultures. Throughout the process, an increased awareness of other cultures creates an inclusive community that encourages all members to meet, interact and experience the culinary aspect of different cultures.
National First-Generation Celebration Day
First-generation students are those students who are in the first in their families to attend and graduate from a four-year university. At Whitworth, we recognize them as "trailblazers" because these scholars are blazing the trail for their families and community towards higher education. We want to celebrate Whitworth first-gen students, staff and faculty for their hard work, sacrifices and successes to achieve a momentous achievement in their educational and professional lives. Check back here for more information about the next National First-Generation Celebration Day.
Diversity Monologues
Diversity Monologues is an annual event showcasing the stories of Whitworth University students. Throughout the Diversity Monologues process, students engage counternarrative to celebrate their identities and to illuminate opportunities for improving equity and inclusion within institutional and societal structures, policies and procedures. Diversity Monologues is coordinated by a body of students, staff and faculty dedicated to fostering a community that nurtures and appreciates diverse identities. In March 2015, Whitworth hosted its first Diversity Monologues program, which was funded as an initiative of #WhitworthUnited.
