Incident Prevention Programs
Whitworth University is committed to establishing and maintaining a safe work environment. This commitment requires the development, implementation and review of an incident prevention program as part of the university's overall occupational-injury and illness-prevention efforts. The university also has additional safety programs to address specific topics that are not covered in the incident prevention program.
The purpose of the incident prevention program is to prevent undesired events that could lead to occupational injuries and illnesses by identifying, evaluating, controlling or eliminating potential hazards. The program emphasizes incorporating safety and health measures into each task so that safety, health and performance become integrated.
A safe work environment is accomplished through the cooperative efforts of management, employees and safety committees in developing and implementing Whitworth's incident prevention program. Management and employees are responsible for following the program and Whitworth's other safety policies.
