International Partnerships
Whitworth values the importance of equipping our students and faculty for global engagement and has established a variety of strategic partnerships to further this goal. We currently have five bilateral exchange partner institutions which share the University's mission, values, and aim to foster internationalization within our campus community.

International Exchange Program
The International Exchange Program enables inbound and outbound student mobility between Whitworth and the above partner universities. The program provides the option for undergraduate students to attend Whitworth University for one or more semester terms, live in our on-campus residence halls, take part in a range of student life activities, and enroll in full-time courses (12.0 credits minimum) taken from our diverse list of program options.
Program Terms
- Fall semester: 15 week program from early September to mid-December
- Spring semester: 15 week program from early February to mid-May
Entry Requirements
- Officially nominated by home university (nomination process detailed below)
- Good academic standing (minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA)
- Sufficient financial means (minimum required amount varies by partner university)
- English proficiency (minimum requirement detailed in Fact Sheet)
Nomination & Application Process
All participating exchange students must first be nominated by their home university. Nominations should come from the appropriate staff within the international office and be sent to nmckinney@whitworth.edu.
Nomination Requirements
- Student’s full name
- Home university email
- Academic major
- Intended academic term(s) for exchange program
- Contact information of nominating international office staff member
Nomination Deadlines
- For fall semester exchange program: April 1
- For spring semester exchange program: Sept. 1
Application & Enrollment Process
- Request your home university international office sends official nomination email.
- Review the International Exchange Program Fact Sheet linked below.
- Complete the online application via the Whitworth University application portal.
- Submit all required documents via email to: nmckinney@whitworth.edu
- Once admitted, accept offer of admission and complete post-admittance steps provided in the online application portal.
- Apply for U.S. visa.
- Arrive at Whitworth and begin your exchange program!
