Influenza (Flu) Vaccination

The following information comes from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Influenza (flu) website.

Influenza (flu) is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses that infect the nose, throat and sometimes the lungs. It can cause mild to severe illness, and at times can lead to death. The best way to prevent flu is by getting a flu vaccine each year. The viruses that cause the flu constantly change, and the effectiveness of the flu vaccine decreases over time. That is why updating your flu vaccine every year is so important.

Students at Whitworth University come together in residence halls, classrooms and other spaces while on campus. The flu vaccine helps prevent the spread of this illness and helps keep you and those around you healthier. Whitworth University Health Services offers the flu vaccine each year beginning in the fall.

Please join us in our efforts to keep our campus community healthy.

If you wish to schedule an appointment for your flu vaccine this fall, please contact health services.
