Students are strongly encouraged to carry private health insurance through their parent/guardian(s) policy or their own individual policy. While many routine healthcare services are covered through Whitworth's health services, there may be circumstances in which private health insurance may be important. Some of these include:

• Uncovered healthcare charges through Whitworth's health services
• Referrals to providers/care outside of Whitworth's health services
• Urgent or emergency healthcare situations requiring specialized or after-hours care

Review your health insurance plan and what it will or will not cover while you are in Spokane. If you need to use your health insurance off campus, such as at a pharmacy, it will be important to bring your insurance card with you.

If you are an international student, you will have the required international student health insurance coverage through Whitworth University and TSS while enrolled.

Whitworth University provides all full-time undergraduate students with an excess accident insurance plan, the Student Accident Insurance Plan. This insurance plan will consider accidents that occur on or off campus after all other insurance has responded. All undergraduate full-time students pay the Accident Insurance Fee associated with tuition and fees. Please access the EIIA website for more information about the Student Accident Insurance Plan.
