International First-Year Student Scholarships
2026-27 Academic Scholarships: Up to $9,000 (up to $36,000 over four years)
At Whitworth, we believe talented students from around the world should have the opportunity to thrive – regardless of cost. That’s why we offer generous academic scholarships to international first-year students.
The best part? No extra scholarship application is required. Every student is automatically considered for scholarships when they apply for admission.
Scholarships are awarded based on your academic achievement. If your GPA isn’t listed on your transcript, we’ll review other credentials – such as Cambridge A-Levels, International Baccalaureate Higher-Level Exams, or SAT or ACT test scores – to make sure you receive the award you deserve. English proficiency tests (TOEFL, IELTS, DET, PTE) are not included in scholarship consideration, but minimum equivalencies are listed below.

Students who are homeschooled or who choose on their admission application to request an interview instead of submitting test scores should contact their admissions counselor regarding their academic scholarship offer.

Other Sources of Support
Whitworth EducationUSA Scholarship
To encourage students to take advantage of the resources EducationUSA offers to prepare students for study in the United States, Whitworth University is offering a $500 scholarship to any student who is registered at an EducationUSA center around the world and is admitted to Whitworth and enrolls. This scholarship would be in addition to any academic scholarship and/or need-based institutional grants (amounts vary) for which the student qualifies and is renewable.
On-Campus Student Employment
Although not guaranteed for every student, on-campus part-time job opportunities are also available to international students with F-1 and J-1 visas. A student working just 10 hours a week, for example, could earn about $4,200 in a nine-month academic year.
