Requesting a Review
How to request a review:
All students have the right to request a review of their conduct case meeting.
Reasons for a review:
- You believe the university did not follow the procedures listed in the student handbook. Information on the conduct system and reviews can be found under Behavioral Expectations.
- New information has been discovered that was not available at the time of the original conduct meeting. A summary of this new information and its potential impact must be included in the request for review. If new information is discovered after the five-day appeal time frame, a student is still encouraged to bring the new information forward.
- You believe that the sanctions are not consistent and appropriate for the violation. Simple dissatisfaction with the sanctions does not meet this requirement for requesting a review.
Student Request for Review Template
Submit your request to the vice president and dean of students within five business days of receiving your case outcome notification. Your request must include the reason for review (listed above).
The review process is held by a review committee including one staff member, one faculty member and one individual chosen by the vice president and dean of students. The original case conduct officer will review the rationale you provide for requesting a review and submit their own rationale in writing to the committee. You will be notified of the final decision within five business days of the committee meeting. You will not meet with the review committee. The committee will review your request letter and take all that is written into account. Be sure to provide all of the relevant information you have in your letter and anything you want the committee to know.
Please submit all review materials to Rhosetta Rhodes, vice president and dean of students, at rrhodes@whitworth.edu or 509.777.4536, Hixson Union Building, Student Life Suite.
