Career & Professional Events – 2024-25
The Whitworth Center for Career & Professional Development offers a wide variety of ways for students to interact with employers, setting them up for career success. Save the date now for each of these sponsored events, then check back at the beginning of September for specific times and locations.

August
Aug. 31 – Welcome Fair at New Student Orientation: Ask career peer coaches how to get a job on campus.
September
Sept. 2 – Career Center Open House: Meet the career center staff and the career peer coaches, and ask any questions you may have. Located in the HUB.
Sept. 4-6 – Student Employment Tent: Ask career peer coaches how to get a job on campus, turn in employment documents and learn how to use the time clock. Located outside the HUB.
Sept. 4 – Whitworth School of Business Accounting Recruitment: Pre-registration required on Handshake. Located in the HUB.
Sept. 6 – Women’s Leadership Network Lunch: Connect with today’s women leaders of the Spokane community; pre-registration required on Handshake. Located at Spokane Club, downtown Spokane.
Sept. 20 – “Do-nut Forget Career Planning”: Grab a free donut and hear about the latest career pro-tips from the career peer coaches. Career Center, 10:30-11:30 a.m.
Sept. 24 – Washington State Legislature Internship Program: Hear about internship opportunities with the Washington State Legislature. And eat free pizza! HUB ABC Room, 11:30 a.m.
Sept. 30 – Spokane Trek Preparation Session (required for all Trek participants): Learn professionalism skills for the upcoming Spokane Trek.
October
Oct. 1 – Careers in Government Panel: Hear from U.S. government employees from a variety of agencies on the benefits of these careers.
Oct. 2 – Spokane Trek: Visit four local businesses and/or agencies at this “career field trip”; pre-registration required on Handshake. 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
Oct. 10 – How to Talk About Yourself: Connect with Whitworth alumni who will help you learn how to nail a job interview. Located in the career center.
Oct. 11 - Afternoon with Alumni: Over 20 Whitworth Alumni will present on topics pertaining to today’s job market. HUB, 2-4:30 p.m.
Oct. 18 – “Do-nut Forget Career Planning”: Grab a free donut and hear about the latest career pro-tips from the career peer coaches. Career Center, 10:30-11:30 a.m.
Oct. 18 – Women’s Leadership Network Lunch: Connect with today’s women leaders of the Spokane community; pre-registration required on Handshake. Located at Spokane Club, downtown Spokane.
Oct. 22 – Job & Internship Fair: Bring a résumé, and meet local employers looking to hire students like you for part-time positions. HUB Multipurpose Room, 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
November
Nov. 1 – Women’s Leadership Network Lunch: Connect with today’s women leaders of the Spokane community; pre-registration required on Handshake. Located at Spokane Club, downtown Spokane.
Nov. 1-3 – Startup Weekend: Join a team of peers and submit your startup ideas at this “Shark Tank – Pirate Version” weekend. Located in the HUB.

Feb. 10-13 – Summer Camp Staff Recruitment Week: Interact with over 20 regional summer camps looking to hire students desiring a transformational summer. Located in the HUB.
March
March 12 – Internship Fair: Bring your résumé, dress professionally, and find an internship by meeting employers looking for summer and fall 2025 or spring 2026 interns. Located in the HUB.
March 20-21 – Seattle Trek: Visit Seattle businesses and/or agencies at this “career field trip”; pre-registration required on Handshake.
April
April 2 – FUSE Career Fair: Over 150 employers will be ready to recruit soon-to-graduate Pirates at this region-wide career fair. Located at the Davenport Grand Hotel, downtown Spokane.
