Registration

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis and requires a student to be admitted to Whitworth with honors. Students who have not completed their application will not be able to register for this event.  

Event participation is $25 per student. Registration includes dinner, breakfast, an overnight stay in a residence hall and the Honors Scholarship Weekend program. To register and submit the event participation fee, please complete the online registration form. Please note: Students wishing to stay overnight in a residence hall must register at least two weeks prior to the event. Overnight accommodations are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and have limited availability. 

Who is eligible?

This an invitation-only event for high-achieving prospective first-year students who have been admitted with honors to Whitworth for fall semester 2025. Incoming first-year students who are admitted with honors are invited to attend one of the Honors Scholarship Weekend events. Transfer students do not qualify.

About the Event

Evaluation of participants and final selection of honors scholarship recipients is identical for all events. From each Honors Scholarship Weekend event, three students will be selected to each receive a four-year, full-tuition scholarship valued at over $200,000*, and 10 students will receive an additional semifinalist scholarship of $1,000 per year. The event check-in will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday and the event will conclude at 2 p.m. on Sunday each weekend.

  1. Discussion with faculty member (prior preparation encouraged)
  2. Individual interview
  3. Essay
  4. Group activity

*The total value of the full-tuition scholarship assumes modest annual tuition increases over four years.

In addition to participating in the evaluated activities listed above, students will also have the opportunity to experience campus life and learn more about Whitworth. Below are some activities you may participate in while visiting campus:

  • Campus tour (optional)
  • Current student Q&A
  • Department information sessions
  • Honors program overview
  • Meals in our dining hall
  • And so much more!

Parents and guests are encouraged to accompany their student and participate in parent and guest activities at no additional cost. Meals are not included for parents and guests but can be purchased in the dining hall or at our cafe or coffee shop.
