First-Year Student Admissions
Whitworth University seeks well-rounded, academically qualified students who are equipped to succeed in our challenging and supportive environment.
Students with five or more classes from an accredited high school or college (e.g., Running Start) have the option of whether to submit test scores with their application. Students who have only attended non-accredited homeschool programs or who received competency-based grades with no cumulative GPA are required to submit test scores.
After we receive your application, we will email you instructions on how to check your application's status. If you don't receive an email within two weeks of submitting your application, please call the Whitworth Admissions Office at 509.777.4786 to receive instructions for accessing your application status page.
Whitworth reviews applications on a "rolling" basis and begins sending admissions decisions in October. After all of your application materials are received and processed by the Whitworth Admissions Office, you should receive your admissions decision within three weeks or less (once we have begun sending admissions decisions in October).
Admitted students may hold their spot in the incoming class and gain access to the form to submit their housing preferences by paying their $350 ($1,000 for international students) enrollment deposit. The deposit may be paid anytime through May 1 and is fully refundable until that date. Deposits will be accepted after May 1 on a space-available basis.
Prior to starting classes at Whitworth, new enrolling first-year students will be required to provide a high school diploma, the recognized equivalent of a high school diploma or be beyond the age of compulsory school attendance in Washington state.
Whitworth provides readily accessible consumer information to help students, parents, employees and the university community make informed decisions about post-secondary education.
