pirATe clinic

The pirATe clinic is a free, educational clinic providing athletic training (also known as athletic therapy) services. The clinic is open to all students and employees of Whitworth University. As part of an educational facility, the pirATe clinic serves as a training site for students.

What Is Athletic Training?

Athletic trainers are healthcare professionals who provide preventive services, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention, and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. Athletic training falls under the larger umbrella of sports medicine, and athletic trainers work closely with physicians.

Conditions Treated

If you have a musculoskeletal injury or condition, we may be able to provide evaluation, treatment and rehabilitative services on campus for free. Some limitations apply (e.g., we do not provide care for concussions, emergency care or conditions outside our scope of training).

Hours & Location

The pirATe clinic is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1-2:30 p.m. The clinic is housed in the Dornsife Health Sciences Building Room 303.

Note: These services are separate from the athletic training services available to university student-athletes; do not go to the athletic training clinic in the Fieldhouse.

FAQs

Can I bring my spouse/child/parent to the pirATe clinic to receive treatment as well?

Unfortunately, due to insurance reasons, the pirATe clinic is ONLY available to current Whitworth students and employees.

Can a Whitworth student-athlete come to the pirATe clinic to receive treatment?

We encourage Whitworth student-athletes to receive their treatment from Whitworth's athletic training staff at the clinic in the Fieldhouse.
