Frequently Asked Questions

How did I get nominated for this?

We are going into our fifth year of the Institute of Leadership, representing over 80 total participants. This alumni network is the front line of our recruitment, along with our executive board members. Someone who has been through this experience sees potential in you to be transformed and impacted the way they were.

What will this experience cost?

You will be earning nine (9) graduate-level credits at the anticipated 2025-26 cost-per-credit rate (around $10,000) that includes tuition, your hotel stays at all three locations and some meals. That amount is split between all three intensives and is not expected to be paid in full up front. Many participants qualify for employer tuition benefits!

Do I need to have a bachelor's degree to participate?

Participants are not required to have an undergraduate degree in order to enroll in the Institute of Leadership; however, current Whitworth undergraduate students are not eligible. Professional business experience is required. If you decide to matriculate into a graduate program, a bachelor's degree would be required, but the graduate-level credits earned from the Institute of Leadership would apply toward that program.

Do I need to have an affiliation with Whitworth to apply?

No prior Whitworth affiliation is required to participate in the Institute of Leadership, including current enrollment in a degree program or alumni status. The Institute of Leadership is open to all members of the community.

Do I need to practice Christianity in order to participate?

No. Whitworth University is an inclusive Christian liberal arts institution, inviting all members of the community to ask questions of faith and explore different points of view, no matter their background.

“Overall wonderful program. I got more out of this than I ever expected. Life-changing.”
