Christopher Roberts

Over a professional career that has spanned more than two decades, Christopher Roberts ’91 has had a wide-ranging career in the sciences, the biotech industry and entrepreneurism. He is currently the CEO of Civetta Therapeutics, a Boston-based biotech startup focused on the discovery and development of novel therapies across multiple diseases. Prior to joining Civetta, he was the chief scientific officer at Black Diamond Therapeutics and was an entrepreneur in residence with the venture capital firm SR One.

Earlier in his career, Roberts was an executive and scientist for small startups and a large pharmaceutical company and has been based in Boston, North Carolina and the San Francisco Bay Area. He has also served in various leadership and advisory roles for nonprofits and churches in the communities where he has lived.

Roberts earned a B.A. in chemistry from Whitworth University and was a member of Whitworth’s basketball team. After graduating, Roberts earned a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of California Riverside, and then completed training in a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Bern, Switzerland. He is a native of Northern California.
