Ryan Keberle and Erica von Kleist

Erica von Kleist has been a member of the acclaimed Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra since 2003. She has been commissioned to write for the band and has toured the U.S., Europe and China. She has composed music for the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, and her compositions have been performed internationally. In 2005, she was invited to be the flautist with Chris Potter's tentet; she also has performed with Wynton Marsalis' sextet. 

Erica studied at the Manhattan School of Music and received the first B.A. in jazz to be offered by The Juilliard School. She released her debut CD, Project E, in 2006, and is currently working on her second album. She has led clinics and workshops at schools worldwide, and has helped create the Middle School Jazz Academy at Jazz at Lincoln Center and the Afro-Latin Jazz Alliance in Brooklyn.

Ryan Keberle, a native of Spokane, Wash., plays a variety of styles including all genres of jazz, avant-garde, Latin, classical and rock. In New York City, he has performed at Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center's Allen Room, Birdland and the Bowery Ballroom. He also has toured across the U.S. and in Scandinavia, Italy, Ireland, Russia, China, Brazil, Argentina and Australia.

Keberle recently performed with the "Saturday Night Live" band and was among 10 finalists for the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Trombone Competition. He's a regular member of the Maria Schneider Orchestra and 15 other New York City-based ensembles, and he has performed or recorded with Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Slide Hampton, the late Percy Heath, Eric Reed, Ivan Lins and Alicia Keys, among others. He's also a regular trombonist for the Broadway musical In the Heights.

In April 2007, Keberle released his debut CD, Ryan Keberle Double Quartet. The album was hailed as an "auspicious debut" by The New York Times, and All About Jazz called it "an outstanding debut from a hot new voice on the jazz scene."

Keberle graduated in 2001 from the Manhattan School of Music, where he studied with critically acclaimed trombonist Steve Turre and composers such as the late Manny Album. He then studied with Wycliffe Gordon and David Berger as part of The Juilliard School's Institute for Jazz Studies and was a member of Jazz at Juilliard's first graduating class in 2003.
