• The Internet Medieval Sourcebook is a collection of reviewed primary sources. This is a great site addressing many history topics, which are not confined to the medieval period.
• The Modern History Sourcebook contains an enormous amount of links and articles addressing American and European History in the past 200 years.
• The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum
• The Avalon project at the Yale Law School reproduces documents relevant to law, diplomacy, politics, economics, and history.
• The Library of Congress: Country Studies series has become a standard reference source of information about developed and developing nations alike.
• American Memory: Historical Collections for the National Digital Library consists of primary source and archival materials relating to US history and culture.
• American Studies Web includes topics such as race and ethnicity, gender and sexuality, sociology and demography, region and environment, philosophy and religion, art and material culture, and performance and broadcasting, economy and politics, literature and hypertext, current events and legal studies.

• African studies WWW (U. Penn). This site offers hyperlinks to direct news sources in Africa, a multimedia library, and "Africa Web Links," an annotated directory.

• The Sixties project and Viet Nam generation, inc. Although by most standards of historical measurement the sixties barely qualify as "history," the decade has taken on almost mythic proportions. The Vietnam War and the rise of the antiwar movement, black power, women's liberation-the list of the decade's transformative moments grows and becomes more complex with each retelling.

• Archaeological resource guide for Europe: WWW Virtual Library for European Archeology is an indexed and ordered collection of nearly 1,100 hypertext links from 38 countries, pointing to current archaeological communication and information resources across Europe.
