About the Coaches

Whitworth has two Ethics Bowl coaches who blend the disciplines of ethics and rhetoric to lead a strong interdisciplinary team. They work together well to lead the team to success at the state, regional and national bowls.

Rebecca Korf is finishing her Ph.D. in logic & philosophy of science at the University of California, Irvine. She also holds a master’s degree in environmental philosophy from the University of Montana. A Whitworth alumna, she competed on the Ethics Bowl and forensics teams from 2013-15 and served as assistant coach for these teams in 2018-19. Korf has worked as an interpretive ranger with the National Park Service for 13 summers, bringing a wealth of professional public speaking experience to the coaching team.

Professor of Philosophy Keith Wyma earned a Ph.D. in philosophy at Notre Dame University. He founded the Ethics Bowl program at Whitworth in 2002. Wyma has chaired the philosophy department and co-chaired Core 350 in Whitworth’s Worldview Studies program.
