Certificate Requirements - 12 Credits

BU 361 Lean Management | Six Sigma Yellow Belt*
Learn to streamline business processes through the application of Six Sigma principles to create globally competitive business entities. This course takes concepts beyond the factory floor to service and retail environments.

MA 256 Elementary Probability & Statistics
Descriptive statistics, probability, probability distributions, hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, correlation and regression. (Statistics courses transferred from other institutions may be considered for substitution.)

BU 314 Introduction to Operations Management | Six Sigma Green Belt*
Examine concepts, processes and methods of managing and controlling operations in any organizational setting at the introductory level. Discuss current issues such as 8 wastes, supply chain strategy, quality plans and systems thinking.

BU 331 Project Management | Six Sigma Black Belt*
This course discusses the factors necessary for successful project management and Six Sigma mastery. Course topics include project management concepts, needs identification, project organizations, project communications, project planning, scheduling, control and associated costs. Project management software will be an integral part of the course.

*Students must pass the course, including final course exam (and capstone project for BU 331) to earn Six Sigma belts.
