Art Talent Award Scholarship

This spring Whitworth University will award Art Talent Scholarship Awards to entering freshmen who demonstrate interest and potential to excel as art majors at Whitworth. Art has been one of Whitworth’s fastest-growing majors over the past five years. The Lied Center for the Visual Arts, which opened in 2008, features large studios for ceramics and sculpture, mixed media, glass, drawing/painting and printmaking. The facility also features a computer graphics laboratory, a student gallery and a beautiful main gallery for touring exhibits and shows by regional and national artists. Professionally active faculty members, whose works have won awards at exhibits and juried competitions nationwide, encourage students to immerse themselves intellectually and spiritually in the creative process. I encourage you to explore the art program at Whitworth and to consider applying for an Art Talent Award Scholarship.

To be eligible for an Art Talent Award, applicants must:

  • Be admitted to Whitworth University.
  • Be actively considering majoring in Art.
  • Enroll in at least one art or art history class each semester of their freshman year
  • Submit an the Application for Art Talent Award Scholarship and the required documents as outlined

Students are selected for awards based on demonstrated interest and ability; financial need may be considered in setting the award amounts. Talent Award Scholarships apply to Whitworth tuition only.
