Whitworth has maintained a covenant relationship with the Presbyterian church for every one of the university's 120-plus years. Among Presbyterian CCCU schools, Whitworth is the largest and highest-ranked by U.S. News & World Report and is the only such institution west of the Rocky Mountains.

Affirming and drawing strength from its Presbyterian tradition, Whitworth has prepared generations of graduates who serve the Presbyterian church and other Christian ministries and who embody the university's founding mission to "honor God, follow Christ and serve humanity." Fine Arts Tours
Talented ensembles from Whitworth's acclaimed music and theatre programs perform for churches throughout the West as part of their regular touring schedules.

• Whitworth's renowned concert choir tours the Northwest every winter with a Christmas-festival concert series.
• The university's award-winning wind symphony and jazz ensemble alternate with the choir in touring throughout the West every spring.
• Troupes from Whitworth's acclaimed theatre program tour the West Coast every other January.
