Central America Study and Service Program

Term: January/Spring 2014
Description: Study Spanish in Guatemala for four weeks before beginning a life-changing journey to Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and El Salvador. The program includes rural service projects, family home stays, and encounters with both breathtaking scenery and wrenching poverty.




German Language

Description: Study program for German language; German language experience required.




Oral French Abroad

Term: May 2014
Description: Study French by immersing yourself in wonderful French-speaking cultures of the world. Students will travel to one of the following destinations: France, Guadeloupe, Quebec (May 2014). Québec’s motto is Je me souviens – I remember – and here you will form your own wonderful memories. You will have the opportunity to take French language courses at your personalized level in an immersion environment; to have a homestay and two meals a day with French-speaking Québecois families; to participate in a volunteer service-learning program in Québec city with other French-speaking Québecois volunteers; to learn about French-Canadian culture, history, and politics; to explore the only North American fortified city north of Mexico; to go to museums and festivals, and to experience how French-speaking culture has developed outside of France. You’ll learn about how France has shaped Canadian language, religion, and history, and what kind of impression Canada has made in return. It’s all waiting for you in Québec, in May 2014!

Spanish Language, Guatemala

Term:
Description: Students will immerse themselves in the culture of Guatemala by living and interacting with Guatemalan host families as well as by participating in other social and cultural activities such as group field trips, museum visits, archeological sites and service outreach projects in the area.




Spanish Language, Mexico

Term:
Description: Spanish language & cultural immersion program to Guanajuato, Mexico where students will study for 3 weeks, intensive Spanish conversation, culture and history
