Areas of Specialization / Expertise:
Certified athletic trainer and clinical instructor in the Whitworth Athletic Training Education Program. Areas of specialization include mild traumatic brain injury and soccer injury epidemiology. Teaching specialization in pathophysiology and therapeutic modalities.

Selected Publications / Presentations / Honors:

Received the National Athletic Trainers Association Outstanding Service Award (2010).

Named Outstanding Educator by the Northwest Athletic Trainers Association (2007). Traveled to Guatemala with a sports-performance team sponsored by Athletes in Action/Campus Crusade for Christ to teach sports medicine and faith integration (2007).

Presentations include: co-presented, "Metatarsalgia," in an AIA Sports Performance presentation series to associated medical professionals in Guatemala, using Skype (2010); "Shortwave Diathermy Use: Easy and Effective," at the Northwest Athletic Trainers Annual Symposium, Seaside, Ore. (2009); gave two invited presentations, "Ultrasound Revisited" and Critical Thinking in Electrotherapy," at the Northwest Athletic Training Clinical Symposium, Vancouver, Wash. (2007); presented research in mild traumatic brain injury at the National Athletic Trainers Association Continuing Education Workshop.

Served as organizer and moderator for the National Athletic Trainers Association's specialty session at the annual symposium in Philadelphia (2010); served as moderator of a town hall session, "College/University Setting," at the Northwest Athletic Trainers Association annual symposium, Eugene, Ore. (2011).

Published a chapter addressing soccer injuries in Epidemiology of Sports Injuries (1996).

Developed a database tracking system of athletic-training students for the National Athletic Trainers Association Professional Educators Conference. Member of the National Athletic Trainers Association College/University Athletic Trainers Committee.
