Education and multicultural/intercultural education; international adoption; supervising student teachers; language arts at the elementary level; art education; community involvement; public and private school placements; rural schools

Selected Publications / Presentations / Honors:

Re-elected for third term as School Board member of District #123 (2007); served as Legislative Chair (2010-11). Member of the West Valley School District's Community Engagement Committee and of the Higher Education Task Force.

Executive director of the Washington state branch of an international nonprofit adoption agency and children's aid program; has arranged for students to work with ESL programs in orphanages and other settings overseas; has developed programs for students in which they work with at-risk children and multicultural children in a variety of settings across the United States.

Community involvment with Stevens Elementary School's art teacher, principal, students and community business supporters to present a yearly art exhibit for grades 3-6 and specila education, held in WHitworth's new Lied Art Center and in conjunction with Whitworth's Art Department, Evening Teacher Certification staff and E.T.C. students.
