Welcome to Whitworth College! This picture titled “Californians Aren’t the Only Foreigners” displays a portion of the 25 new international students that arrived on the Whitworth campus in the fall of 1953. As part of their orientation they experienced American culture through a roller skating party. Other events in the week included activities in the gym, singing songs, and a picnic at Wandermere. These were also the first few days for Hong Kong native Janie Ko, who is pictured at the far left.
