The Lasting Legacy
The Snow Frolic was a Whitworth tradition for almost twenty years. It included countless concerts, movies, games, dances, and smorgasbords. Like the May Day and Homecoming courts, being elected to the Snow Court was a huge honor. The students who were elected achieved great things, both during their times at Whitworth and after leaving campus. Although, the Snow Frolic is a distant memory, its purpose of celebrating winter and embracing Spokane’s harsh weather continues today on campus in many different forms. Students still frolic in the snow, but now they no longer see yetis lurking between trees or campaign to be snow queens.
