Ballard Hall Fire of 1927
Designed by
Ballard Hall Fire of 1927
Built in 1914, Ballard Hall was home to twenty male students, administrative offices, science labs and classrooms. Ballard Hall was destroyed by fire on March 8, 1927. Rebuilt by December 1927, Ballard Hall is a symbol of the spirit of Whitworth College. The Ballard Hall Fire destroyed a building, but it caused a renewed sense of community within the college and re-ignited school spirit, and it led to the commitment to rebuild and expand Whitworth College.
