The Finest Manhood on Campus
Several yearbooks produced during the 1920s and 1930s describe the virtuous character of members of the “W” Club. The 1927 yearbook states: “No other organization on campus is more willing and anxious to see Whitworth College grow and become the leading school of the Inland Empire in scholarship and athletics.” By this description, it is clear that members of the club were truly admired individuals on campus, and were known by their lettermen sweaters, as exhibited by these two group members from 1938.
