Climbing Wall

The Whitworth University Recreation Center offers a great space to practice your climbing skills indoors. The center features 2,300 square feet of climbable space, 10 top-roped routes and a bouldering area, which includes a cave.

Climbing Center Hours of Operation:
Open Bouldering – Any time the facility is open (after you complete our 5-minute safety orientation)

Open Climbing (on ropes)

  • Monday-Thursday 4-10 p.m.
  • Friday 4-7 p.m.
  • Saturday-Sunday 2-6 p.m.

Do you have belay experience?
You can take a quick belay test to demonstrate your competence at belaying if you have previous experience.  Pass the test and you are good for a year! 

Need a Refresher?
Learn all the skills and techniques to advance in your climbing career or simply get a workout in a new way. These clinics, taught on The U-Rec’s 32-foot-tall rock-climbing wall, include everything from beginner skills to more advanced climbing techniques. No matter what your level, we have a clinic for you!
