"I give to Whitworth because it gave me a superb education and a community when I came back here to serve."

"From teaching and mentoring with fantastic students, to departmental work with wonderful colleagues, to partnership with student life, support staff, and administration, we live a privileged calling at Whitworth. Now it is our privilege to provide financial support to advance the mission we are blessed to share."

"I give to Whitworth largely out of appreciation and affection. I have a genuine love for this school and am grateful for all Whitworth has done for my family. Between me, my children and their spouses, we have ten degrees from Whitworth. Five of those are thanks to the generous tuition remission benefit I receive as an employee of Whitworth. Giving back is my small way of saying thanks and supporting future students who will someday attend Whitworth."

"I have made this place my community. While teaching is one of the ways I give back, my financial gifts represent my belief in the mission and the ministry that is played out in this community. It is an important way for me to say that this place means something to me, and that I want it to continue to succeed."

"One of the important but often overlooked reasons to give is that our small gifts help the institution leverage large gifts. When I applied for a major grant some years ago the first question I was asked by the granting board was, 'What percentage of your faculty, staff and alumni contribute annually?' The granting board was willing to give us a major gift because those of us who work for the institution also supported it financially."
