Multicultural Visit Program (MVP)
April 3-5, 2014

Whitworth University invites high school juniors and seniors to share their diverse backgrounds and unique experiences at our overnight Multicultural Visit Program (MVP). This is an excellent opportunity to explore Whitworth and the Spokane community. If you are seeking an education of mind and heart in a welcoming community that lifts up academic excellence, the integration of faith and learning, and diversity and inclusion, we invite you to apply.

All lodging and meals for this event are complimentary. Bus transportation will be provided for students coming from Seattle/Tacoma and travel grants are available for students traveling from outside Spokane or the Seattle/Tacoma area.

Who can participate? This program is open to high school juniors and seniors. We specifically encourage students of underrepresented racial and ethnic populations and first generation college students to apply. This year's program is at capacity so registration is now closed.

What does the MVP event include? This is a two-night campus visit program that includes the following activities:

Where is Whitworth University and how do I get there? Whitworth University is located 15 minutes north of downtown Spokane, Wash. Students accepted for the MVP program from the Seattle/Tacoma area will be provided transportation to campus via charter bus. Students coming to campus from at least 250 miles away are eligible to apply for a campus visit travel grant ranging from $50 to $300.

When does the fun begin? Students may start arriving on campus 9 p.m. on Thursday, April 3. The official program begins on Friday, April 4, at 8:45 a.m. and will conclude at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 5.

Why should I come for MVP instead of a regular campus visit? MVP is especially programmed for students of color and first-generation students to address the unique opportunities and resources that exist for you at Whitworth University.

How do I apply? The deadline to apply was March 3; registration is now closed.
