Individual Visits

Ever had an article of clothing custom-made, just for you? (Those itchy, lumpy wool socks your great-aunt knitted one Christmas don't count.) Well, individual visits to Whitworth are kind of like that – we'll create a schedule of activities just for you, based on your needs and interests.

Individual Visit Request Form

Your individual visit will include...

Campus Tour: Your campus tour will be led by a current student and will be about 75 minutes long. This is a walking tour, so please wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for the weather.

Admissions Presentation: An admissions staff member will fill you in on Whitworth's admissions process and scholarship opportunities, and provide info about the university.

Please note: To maximize our staffing resources, it's likely that your campus tour and admissions presentation will take place with other visiting prospective students and their families.

One-on-One Meeting with an Admissions Counselor: If you have specific questions about Whitworth's admissions process or about Whitworth in general, you can schedule a one-on-one appointment with an admissions counselor; your appointment will take place just after the admissions presentation. (Don't worry: this appointment is not an evaluative interview; it's an informal meeting to get the info you need. But practice giving a firm handshake anyway – our career-services staff will tell you this is impressive on job interviews.)

Class Visit: Interested in physics? Art? Economics? Sit in on an actual class taught by a professor who's as enthused about her students as she is about the subject matter. When you schedule an individual visit online, simply list your top three academic interests, and we'll find a class that best fits your interests and visit schedule. (Due to limited space, parents are unable to visit classes.)

Overnight Stay in a Residence Hall: Experience dorm life by spending the night with a Whitworth student host. Warning: Overnight stays may include guitar strumming, foosball, or deep-fried Oreos in the lounge.

Two Meals in the Dining Hall: Dinner's on us! And breakfast, too. Enjoy two complimentary meals in the dining hall when you stay overnight (students who visit just for the day are treated to one complimentary meal). Our dining services team is dedicated to providing tasty, healthy food prepared, whenever possible, from local, fair trade, and sustainable sources.

Meet with a Professor (based on availability): Want to learn more about a major you're interested in, or research opportunities, or what a senior project entails? Feel free to request to meet with a professor from the academic department of your choice. Whitworth professors are known for staying after class to talk with students, taking students to coffee, even inviting students to their homes for a meal. So fear not – our professors will welcome the opportunity to get to know you.

Meet with a Coach (based on availability): Interested in playing on one of Whitworth's Northwest Conference championship-winning teams?  If so, you can request to meet with a coach of your chosen sport and learn about the opportunities available to you.
