Ministry Programs

  • Small-Group Coordinators
Small-group coordinators work with the chaplain's office to train and support student-initiated and -led small groups, in which students meet regularly to study scripture, pray and encourage each other to live out their call to follow Christ. These small groups take place all over campus throughout the week and serve as foundational experiences for spiritual growth as students seek to learn from one another and grow in Christlikeness.

  • Certification for Ministry
Offered through the Whitworth Department of Theology, this certification program prepares Whitworth students for entry-level positions in churches and other organizations upon their graduation from Whitworth. Click here to view a list of participating churches and intern positions. Contact Dottie Mohrlang for further information.

  • Young Life at Whitworth
A unique partnership with Young Life enables Whitworth to offer students in-depth training and development in youth ministry as well as opportunities to serve in a variety of ministries in the region. Young Life and Whitworth have worked together for nearly 70 years and have enjoyed a formal partnership since 1991. The program is led by Kent McDonald, regional trainer for Young Life and lecturer in the theology department at Whitworth. Contact Kent McDonald for more information.
