Career Opportunities

Economists working for businesses, educational institutions and government agencies analyze market forces and deal with issues ranging from inflation, employment, and international trade to real estate, taxes and regulation. Business managers plan and direct major functions such as accounting, capital development and human-resource management. Private industry provides the largest number of jobs for persons with training in economics, accounting, banking, business and finance, with opportunities in advertising agencies, brokerage houses, chambers of commerce, fund-raising firms, consultant companies, retail outlets and manufacturing companies. Business graduates also work for a wide variety of government and not-for-profit organizations.
