Whitworth University Off-Campus Studies
Mission: The Whitworth International Education Center (IEC) prepares students, faculty and staff to be global citizens by expanding opportunities for them to experience and explore cultures throughout the world.
Faculty-Led Programs: The Off-Campus Programs Office establishes policies and procedures for faculty-led study-abroad programs and provides administrative and logistical support to faculty so that they can focus on developing and leading high-quality study programs that enrich the lives of participating students.
International Student Exchange Program (ISEP) and Whitworth Reciprocal Exchange Partners: ISEP promotes academic and cross-cultural learning through its worldwide network of higher-education institutions. ISEP facilitates academic mobility through innovative and affordable programs to achieve authentic global learning, enhances institutional infrastructures and fosters campus internationalization.
Other Programs: Exchanges with partner universities around the world, and other international programs, provide opportunities for students to spend a summer, semester or academic year immersing in an international setting and education system.
The mission of the IEC is directly tied to that of the Whitworth University 2021 Vision & Strategic Plan. Goal 3 of the Vision & Strategic Plan states the following:
"Our students live in an increasingly interdependent world. They must be able to cross international boundaries and navigate politics, cultures, economics, religions and languages with skill and understanding if they are to serve and lead in an ever-evolving global community. Whitworth will equip its students with the knowledge, skills and insight they need to thrive as global citizens."
