Program Details - Spanish in Guatemala

Quetzaltenango is the second largest city in Guatemala. It is situated near several volcanoes in the heart of the Sierra Madres, with an altitude of 2333m (8000 ft) above sea level that provides warm days and cool nights. Students will attend intensive courses in Spanish conversation, culture and history at Casa Xelajú language school. Classes will be held 5 hours a day, 5 days a week with an individualized curriculum with instructors who will work with each student according to his/her level of proficiency. Students will immerse themselves in the culture of Guatemala by living and interacting with Guatemalan host families as well as by participating in other social and cultural activities such as group field trips, museum visits, and service outreach projects in the area.
