The MIT program provides schools with well-trained, enthusiastic,
high-energy teachers ready to have a positive impact upon both the educational system and individual students. Participants enter the program having completed a bachelor's degree in an approved teaching endorsement area. MIT graduates concurrently earn a master's degree and a Washington State Teaching Certificate. As a result, they are highly sought after by school principals who realize and appreciate their maturity, the quality of their preparation, and their eagerness to influence student achievement.

Whitworth's MIT program is available in both a full-time and part-time format.  The full-time option allows students to complete the program in 13 months, making the Whitworth MIT program one of the fastest programs available.  This format includes a year-long internship as well significant coursework to prepare the student for the future. The part-time option offers the same outstanding program but in a decelerated format. Attending classes two or three times a week for 25 months, students are able to balance school and life more easily.
