To request to have your placement file sent, use one of the following options:
Order online with credit card or e-check payment.
E-mail your request to email@example.com. (If you have a balance, you will be contacted for payment.)
In your request, please provide the name of the district, the district address and in the Special Instructions box any e-mail address, fax number, or other specific instructions for placement file/letters of recommendation that are included on the application or on the informational job webpage. Every attempt will be made to send your placement file within one working day of receipt of your request.
Any graduate or current student completing a program for certification at Whitworth University can create a placement file. As of September 2011, all new Whitworth placement files are "open" files only. That means letters are non-confidential. This change is a direct result of most districts now having online applications where the candidate can self-submit their letters. If you need to have a confidential file for any reason, please contact our office. We can work with you to meet this need.
Candidates with confidential files can add open letters to their files. Send scanned signed letters, preferably on letterhead, to firstname.lastname@example.org
A placement file consists of a minimum of three recent letters of recommendation.
Every district has a different application process. Be sure to check your application status within a day or two of requesting that your placement file be sent. If the district requires a copy of your resume and/or your certificate in your placement file, please include that in your request, and send us a copy of your resume to include and check with us that we have the most recent copy of your certificate.
Placement file fees:
Initial set-up fee: $25 (includes first five mailing requests)
Mailing fee: $5
TRANSCRIPTS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN A CANDIDATE'S PLACEMENT FILE.
Official transcripts must be ordered from the registrar's office at the college/university where you completed your credits. You will need transcripts from all institutions attended for any application. To request Whitworth transcripts, use the Request Transcripts link.
In addition, WEST-E or Praxis II score reports are not included in a candidate's placement file.
